Correct Answer: Option 1 – receives less intense insolation

Insolation is the amount of solar radiation or electromagnetic radiation from the sun on the surface of earth

Incorrect Option

Radiation in the Electromagnetic Spectrum is often categorized by wavelength. Short wavelength radiation is of the highest energy and can be very dangerous - Gamma, X-rays and ultraviolet are examples of short wavelength radiation. Longer wavelength radiation is of lower energy and is usually less harmful - examples include radio, microwaves and infrared. A rainbow shows the optical (visible) part of the Electromagnetic Spectrum and infrared (if you could see it) would be located just beyond the red side of the rainbow

Correct Answer: Option 2 – radio wave radiation

The longest wavelength corresponds to long wave radio; the longest used is about 2000 meters. The shortest are gamma rays, which occur in radioactivity, these are from about 10-12 meters down

Infrared radiation is electromagnetic radiation whose wavelength lies between 750 nm and 100 µm.

Ultraviolet light is electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light, but longer than x-rays, in the range 10 nm to 400 nm.

X-rays have a wavelength in the range of 10 to 0.01 nanometers.

Hence, options 1, 3 and 4 are incorrect

Correct Answer: Option 4 - D

Insolation is a measure of solar radiation energy received on a given surface area in a given time.

The surface in option D is a dark and uneven surface. Darker and uneven surfaces  absorb higher insolation compared to lighter and even surfaces. Hence, option 4 is the correct answer
